If your reading is high, we don't just send you away with a piece of paper. We offer a tiered level of support:
Immediate Lifestyle Advice: Simple changes to diet, salt intake, and activity can have a massive impact on your readings.
Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM): If your initial reading is high, we may offer you a 24-hour monitor to wear at home. This is the "gold standard" for diagnosing hypertension as it rules out "white coat syndrome" (where your pressure rises simply because you are in a clinical setting).
GP Liaison: If your results indicate you need medication, we can send your readings directly to your GP, speeding up the process of getting the treatment you need.
If you are over 40, the NHS recommends you have your blood pressure checked at least once every five years. However, if you have a family history of heart disease, smoke, or lead a high-stress lifestyle, we recommend more frequent checks.
